Runway ? ...

It's getting there    I remember the Matchbox Alphajet (1:72) going together just as neatly. I wonder if someone just scaled the moulds up for this wonder?

Jeffry Fontaine

Is that Heller's mold or the old ESCI mold for the Alpha Jet?  Hard to discern any differences from the images provided but from the assembly issues it might be a very close relative of the ESCI kit.  Did your kit have a couple of BL755 shapes in addition to the pair of small drop tanks?  That would pretty much confirm it as the ESCI kit in a Heller box.

There were a number of times, actually almost the whole build so far, that I thought this just couldn't be done. Anyhoos here it is, just a (sizeable) gap ahead of the windshield to fill - of course I'm used to this by now - then off to the paint shed with the Dornier & Mirage.

Thanks for the support, chaps, appreciate it.

'Tis a putty monster for certain, but I'm sure it'll look great when you slap some paint on it!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

He's right, y'know.  You're a fine builder but the stuff you do with paint is sheer magic!

I don't know Ian, I tend to second Barry's sentiment regarding your painting and building skills.

I agree with the honourable gentleman!! Your painting skills are nothing less than superb. I would be happy to have 1/10th your skills with the airbrush!!

You are both and inspriations and the hights to which I fear I'll never reach!!

Hence why I have invited myself to the painting wing of Schloss Jackson for an airbrush tutorial! :D

Yes it's got more paint on it..... Tamiya 'Khaki' XF49 on the top-side and Xtracolour RLM78 on the underside.

Never thought, in those early PSR sessions that it would ever get anywhere near this point, however.......
