That new canopy changes so much the overall looks of the original airplane, that I spent a good while identifying it!!!

Bungle,

I'm truly honored to have this design named after me :)!

My pleasure totally. I mean most of attempts get named after me when they are 'bungled'.

Sweet save!

Once an Italeri Flying Banana got dropped just as it was getting finished and cracked the windscreen in a star pattern.   The guy finished it, entered it in a contest titling it 'Bird Strike' and won a first place.

Cracked canopies can be a good thing.

So what would I do if I accidentally broke a canopy?
Major hissy fit I think - nothing else for it.
Then calm down and suss out how to get around the problem.
Then a moderate rant.
Then put kit back in the loft and wait for Aeroclub, Squadron or whoever to make a vacform replacement!
Nice model, by the way.  A Martin Mackerel, perhaps?  Well, the RAF has traditionally referred to its maritime patrol types as the 'Kipper Fleet'.
I'll get me coat.......

After seeing Weaver's build of the Masterkit Iskara, I decided to pull the kit out of the closet. The kit's biggest problem is the canopy (actually BOTH canopies). They don't fit at all.
What I did was snap the canopy lengthwise; in the process I snapped off another section. I superglued it together slightly wider (to fit the fuselage) and filled the inside with acrylic spackle.
I tried to use my Vac-u-form to duplicate the canopy, but I couldn't get it to suck down properly. Instead, I tried the "heat and smash" method and it worked great! I was able to make three good canopies.
