Back History:

After the American F-14A encounter over the sydra gulf in 1986, the Libyan colonel Khadafi started looking for a new fighter as the MIG-23 and SU-22 appeared to be no match for the american superfighter. as a result, the Libyan MoD placed an order for 50 SU-27 Flankers. the SU-27 was to formthe backbone of the Libyan Air Force in the late 80's/early 90's. in 1995 the LAF started looking out for even better aircraft after the americans presented the YF-22, witch outperformed everything that was out there at the time.

as a result, the LAF reached an agreement with Russia, it was to hand back the 50 SU-27 to russia and in return Libya would recieve 36 SU-35 Flanker-E's, making the LAF the launch customer for the type.

The Model:

this model is the last one i made in the old house, its a 1/144 dragon/DML SU-35/37 (from the 2-pack box) build straight out of the box. decals are custom made.

It could be a reality(Libyan Su-35) if Libya continues to re-integrate with the world community(either that or a Libyan Rafale)

My money is on Rafales - especially given that France is getting desperate for an export of these.
