Problem would be, if the LCAC suddenly dives hard into a wave and comes up fast... that could damage the SHAR quite a bit

Colour me happy!  Trumpeter have released news of an upcoming JMSDF LCAC in 72nd scale.

Hmmmm, the possibilities are there for a scale-o-rama into something larger or smaller.  Wonder if Airfix will ever release their passenger ferry ACV kit again?

That and a 35th scale SRN like the US used in Vietnam!!!

Ya nice and all, but at a C-note US, I won't be in the queue.

Mebbe its time to scratch-build the Bell SES.

It seems Pit-Road, a Japanese company are getting into the 72nd Scale LCAC trick too here: http://www.hlj.com/product/PITDL-01.

At near on $100 US, it's a big chunk o' change, but dang......

Naturally, I'm leering at it from a whif kinda perspective and thinking one word.... "armed"...

All we need now is a 1/35 version  ;D

The 1/144th LCAC currently available is a joint project between Pit-Road and Trumpeter, so it stands to reason that the 1/72 kit is as well.
I picked up the JMSDF version of the 1/144th kit from Squadron Shop a couple months back for about half-price, it is very nice.
BTW the USN version is on sale at HLJ for half-price,

The 1/72nd F-107 and 1/144 Kawansihi H6K kits put out by Trumpeter were a joint venture with Model Chrome in Japan.
These joint projects have tended to be better than the kits developed purely by Trumpeter.

At near $100, that's a pricey 1/72 kit (but a big one at that)...It would be a good starting point for a whole lot o'whiffery.  I don't know if I'll get one, but you never know.

You could use a 1/35 scale LCAC for a coffee table, but that'd be a cool way to display models, wouldn't it?
The Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah, the Men's department.

Make a heck of a great "Insta-diorama."  Just whiff up some USMC armor, and there ya go!   ;D

At only $100, such a deal (for the lazy with more money than brains)!

Maurizio, a member of ARC posted a topic for a friend of his (dusty_dogs) that is currently building a 1/35th scale LCAC from scratch.  The WIP images are available at this link on Photobucket: lcac pictures by dusty_dogs.
