Made some progress on a kit that has been languishing on the shelf for over a year. Lots of masking...LOTS of masking. I need a beer.

The finished product should be a slight variation of this, courtesy of Gekko_1:

My take on it. The middle color is a bit off, but I figure a) I'm not going through that painting exercise again, and b) this will be a SEAD airframe, so these colors work for low-level flight over Western Australia.

Great paint job.  Like he said, how did you do the fine lines?

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

The splinter scheme is amazing enough!

But the fact that there is a nice thin grey demarcation line between colours pushes this job over into the truly special!

Thanks everyone. I should note that the tan is greener in real life (I shot those photos under less than ideal conditions), so the colors aren't as off as I originally thought. I'm too hard on myself.

As for the demarcation lines. I used some really thin masking tape that I got from a place called Jammydog: http://www.jammydog.com/
The stuff is great. I'm going to use it on all my hard to mask projects. I'd considered using decal strips but I'm pretty sure that would have been harder than masking.

  First class: not less.

A well executed project.

I would to be so clean and precise in the my paint works!

Decals applied. Kind of nervous about the clear coat. There is potential for some serious silvering. Time to start praying to the modeling gods.
