Hi guys,
I'm doing a Canadair Challenger that's going to be armed. I've already got a FLIR turret and a radar on her, and was going to have a pair of 'winders on the wings. I was also thinking about having a Litening pod and maybe a missile or two. Either Mavericks, Brimstones or possibly an AGM-84 Harpoon. I was wondering, do I need a pod for those ? Or would the FLIR turret work ? I know, you'd think maybe a guy who's been into aviation since he was a little kid wouldn't be asking such a stupid question.....but there it is !

TIA,

Since the Harpoons & Brimstones are radar guided you wouldn't necessarily need a pod (just stick any black boxes needed in the aircraft), the Mavs wont need one either if their Optically or IR guided . . . but if you want to add a targeting pod just say the Mavs are laser guided & you're set.

You could say that the FLIR turret has a boresighted laser designator on board, like the systems on the Whisky and Zulu Cobras........

Toad: are you putting the FLIR turret in the tailcone (like the Danish Challenger MMAs)?

Captain Canada

Thanks for the replies !

Yes, the layout is like that of the Danish MMAs.
