Well, It's getting better and better

I completely finished the build, and now I've added my painting scheme. All that's left is painting the gear and ordnance, which will be attached after I do some panel lining...

...Which I'm actually quite nervous about.

I'm seriously disappointed that I messed the canopy up and had to paint over it, but it's a lesson learned. And it could looked a lot worse.

I am however, very very pleased with the overall paint scheme, and how I got it to turn out. It'll look great once the weapons and other greebles are hung on it, and it's had some decals added.

Also, I wish I knew how to make the pics bigger...

Here's the sum of the work from today - I've attached the weapons, gear, and props. It's looking excellent, and armed to the teeth.

The only problem is that it's back-heavy, even with me having weighted the nose. I should have found something heavier to weight it with.

It is quite tooled up for war though - I'm quite impressed!

All that's left to do, is to apply varnish, then decals, then varnish, then panel-wash, then varnish xD

I think I might attempt building a stand - I have some ideas on how to do so, and then I'll be able to display it properly.

Looking very nice there

The Bronco is a favourite of mine and you have certainly done this one loads of justice, I like the load out and the colour scheme, very nice.
I have 3 in the stash, 2 of which are the NOGS versions, and your Bronco has given me some inspiration as what to do with them.

I managed to get a stand together, and I've got some decals on her now too. More pics'll be up tomorrow after work.
I've had fun with this one, but I'd love to do one in a bigger scale. I'll definitely be interested to see how yours come out, and glad I've been an inspiration to you as well.

Well, she's as finished as I'm going to get her!

You can really see how much she's packing in these two photos.

As mentioned, i had to fabricate a stand from coathanger and a bit of plasticard dowelling to make sure she could be displayed - she has a fat butt

Overall I'm pleased with the outcome. I made something I like to look at, and that I'm proud of. I took my time, and made it personal, as well as taking care and not rushing it at all.

The kit was mostly fun to assemble, but the problems came from my meat-fistedness, such as the messing up of the canopy, which is why it's blued out.
I also absolutely hated the Academy decals that came with it, and refuse to use them ever again - next Academy kit, I'm buying a decal set, or printing my own.

I also am NOT using milliput again - it was entirely inconstant on it's curing, and I was delayed and frustrated so many times by it.
Other than that - I learned i can build and paint models decently, and I do have patience to do so.
Other things I learned include that I want to build in a bigger scale from now on

1/48 here i come. The only other 1/72 I'll probably finish is the Catalina I got as a birthday present.

Anyhow, thanks for all the support, and I hope you all like the finished article!

Nice build,

I will say re Milliput that most of the problems I have ever had have been due to mixing uneven batches - you have to be reasonably accurate with your measuremnt. As time has gone by I now rarely get a bad batch - it's usually worst in really small batches or when you get sloppy on a big batch. It is a good material and for me is my main filler exspecially when I'm doing serious quantities like my Flitzer/Me163 mash up - still - working on this.

Hehe, thanks - the white took several layers of repeating to get it as white as it turned out in the end. I am pleased with the overall effect of the camo scheme though. I've always liked winter schemes, and white/black/grey schemes too.
Glad this model has been so well-received.

Welcome to the dark side of modeling, where we actually enjoy building models.

You'll fit in very well around these here parts.

For white paint, the best option is multiple thin coats.

For canopies, I recommend white glue, not modeling glue, or if you can find it, watch cement, used by jewelers for gluing the crystal covers on watches.

Another nice and effective way to get a good sharp white, is to start with a real light gray or an ivory colour, something like Bleached Bone, it'll go on easier, and being that it's already starting towards white, it makes it a smoother blend and can save you seven hundred coats of white.
