This was built as part of a Blitz Build (Build Blitz?) organised by a club member. The idea was to complete a model in a 24hr period. I did not quite make the dead line, went over by a couple of hours. I started it at 4:50 last Friday afternoon. At 4:50 on Saturday I had most of the paint done and the gear assembled. By 10 AM Sunday it was finished.

This is the Italeri 1/72 EF2000 kit with decals for a couple of prototypes I think. I could not build to the box scheme so after a bit of rumaging in the spares box and some creative masking I came up with this...

The Drakken was built by my son at the same time....

Beautiful Weekend Build!!!

As something of a 'high-speed builder' myself I love seeing something that has gone from a box of parts to a display piece in a couple of days.  From what I've read that Italeri Typhoon isnt the easiest thing to make look good to start with, so for you to produce this in a weekend is very impressive!!  Nice Draken from your son too!!  Now get him off that real-world crap, and into some CREATIVE modeling!!!   ;D

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Thanks,

I will be trying a few more I think. The kit went together pretty well. I did have some issues with gaps on the wing roots and where the engine nozzle assembly attaches.

My son did want to try a different scheme but his ideas were way beyond his skill level and we did not have time to muck around with experimenting, so I suggested an easy OOB option. Mind you now he has seen mine finished he has a Hornet almost done on the bench that he wants to cover in tiger stripes!

But that breaks the First Law of Whiffery:  No Idea is Beyond Any Skill Level.   ;D

Your boy wants to do Tigerstripes on a Hornet, show him some of the Canuckistanian birds that have been out to the Tiger Meet - there's one on the cover of one of the magazines that's just bedecked in them and sexy as hell.

Beautiful work on the tiger tail though, she's quite a sexy piece, and in such speed too!
