Okay, DaFrog's thread here:  http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,25340.0.html    inspired me to dig out these, which are the few things to survive the Bonfire of the Spares Box 20+ years ago. None of them were finished at the time, and I'm toying with the idea of doing some or all of them up. I also thought they might serve to give people ideas......

First off, grav armour. At the time, kits of modern, futuristic armour were thin on the ground in 1/72nd, and you have to be a bit more creative to achieve the same look with WWII stuff. I used to have a lot more of these, mostly based on T-34s or Panther hulls, but they're all gone now.

White metal M-20-based hovercraft:

Hanomag sides rotated about their top edge until vertical, then plated over:

Two Comet hulls not assembled in accordance with the instructions:

Two Panther hulls:

Two Kubelwagen side panels, bottom to bottom and two Panther mantlets. I used to have a supply of clear domes, two of which would have gone on this:

Okay, now my glamorous assistants will model some remote weapon stations. These look a lot less futuristic now than they did at the time!

Turret made from two Hanomag (?) mudguards and a Scorpion mantlet:

Not older than dirt but remembers when it was still under warranty.

Now for the Flivvers. My mate and I used to make these things all the time out of spare bits, but these are the only two I have left. They're inspired by some of the flying machines out of the old 2000AD Rogue trooper cartoon strip. They "fly" my anti-grav and can hover: the "wings" are just for stability and pylons.

And yes, those are Angel Interceptor tailplanes: they were common as muck at the time!   Less obviously, the seats and quite a few of the parts are from the Matchbox Canberra PR.9...

This one has removeable side panels to show the "engine", but it's not actually that impressive. Who can guess where the glass "umbrella" comes from?  ;D

The platform on this side originally had a flex gun made from Defiant turret guns underneath it and a controller on top:

This one is less finished and more damaged:

All the muck on these comes from them being abandoned in a damp cellar for 20 years. Some of it isn't merely dirt but actual mould, and it fights back!

I love the Flivvers and other than gluing the exhaust back on I'd leave them as they are  ;D
