Hey Guys, i'm Thinking about doing Some Aircraft Models in RAF/UK ASR Color but was Wondering if the Yellow seen on Some RAf Helos was Canary Yelow or what? want to know What Model Master Color is the Closest to Use. Thanks for Looking.

RAF Trainer Yellow trust me I do SAR for a living

Cannot answer the Model Master question though as I've never used them. It's a 'true' yellow not lemon or orange. If you cannot find the exact shade in MM's range I would suggest you look at RLM04 'Gelb' as in the 'real world' they are almost identical.

Thanks. i saw that Color on some ASR Jets in a 'Thunderbirds' Episode & Wondered what the Color would be Called!!!!!!!

Mossie

It's very close to FS 33538 which is MM 1708.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Unless they're RN helos, in which case they're grey and red, very inspiring. NOT!  :banghead:

202 is Mrs. PR19's fave Squadron, because they have a duck for a badge!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

UH-60 would be good....CH-53 would be better ;)

I remember a few years ago at the Nationals there was a stunning 1/48 Osprey in RAF SAR colours   I think Terry built it?

Not Sure about getting a Model of a CH-53. may try using the Color on 2 Possible Choices:Hughes 500 & Jet Ranger!!!!

Mossie

Real World, Westland have looked at licensing the Blackhawk on more than one occaision, so that helps give it a bit of credibility, not that it's required.  It's got it's size going for it over the 500 & the Ranger, although I'd love to see the litlle Hughes in SAR colours!

Radish

The V-22 Osprey was built by Andy "Smeders" Smedley of IPMS Mercia, who occasionally has built some really exotic stuff, real world as well as daft. One he did in the last year or so was the 1/48th Tu-4 AWACS in Chinese colours using that resin conversion set. Terrific. :drink:

Hey Guys, Anyone know if the RAF uses the CH-46???? the UH-60 i planned to use got Bought!!!!!! just wondering if the CH-46 would work in ASR Colors?

nev

Of course it would work.  Sweden and Japan used the KV-107 in the SAR role for years, so go for it.
