something a bit different from me... 1/43 diecast Volvo XC70 by Motorart to be converted into a Police vehicle... progress so far...

2D models decals

interior removed to be converted to RHD & painted dark grey, beige interiors aren't very police-friendly

dashboard chopped down the middle & reattached the wrong way, gives the right impression without needing too much effort, then the gap is filled & shaped, then painted

interior painted, police gubbins loaded in the back are boxes made from scraps of plastic card, rod etc, the cones are white metal

quite a bit more progress - most of the decals on, just needs some minor details like aerials fitting

I forgot to mention the what if bit, well, Cambs police use standard V70 Volvos, not the 4x4 XC70 as modelled here, there was apparently uproar when the top brass got themselves some nice new XC70 company cars to go shopping in while the bobbies on the beat were being cut back, so I've put them into frontline service catching crims...

now that colour scheme is just Sharp, I have to admit.  The police patterns look good.  Much better than our standard fare over here in Canuckistan, with the white car with a blue foot-wide stripe across the side.  Though, the Ontario Provincials returned to a very nice, very sexy colour scheme they used to wear - Black car, with white saddle-patch of Front Doors and Roof, lettering in gold - OPP.  Classic black and white, very nice look.
Putty-fu, Scratch-jutsu and Bash-chi, the sacred martial arts of the What-If. Mastering them, is Ancient Chinese Secret.

Just your friendly neighbourhood Mad Scientist and Ship-whiffer.

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

Are you putting Boudicea style spikes on the wheels, a la Clarkson? :D
Between almost-true and completely-crazy, there is a rainbow of nice shades - Tophe

Sales of Airfix kits plummeted in the 1980s, and GCSEs had to be made easier as a result - James May

Joe C-P

Or a rolled up tyre-buster, or a couple of paint-spray guns?   ;D
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
