i have started building the first of 2 Eurofighter Sea Typhoons, they will be painted up in Leutonian Navy markings and will be based on a new 1/144 STOBAR carrier i currently have in development.

the base kit im using is the revell 1/144 Eurofighter, witch is still based on the early development sketches (revell should really concider releasing an upgraded kit) main changes include:

- stronger 2-wheeled nosewheel.
- stronger podded underwing landing gear
- an arrestor hook

im still thinking about the armament, i think im gonna make the first one equiped for Carrier based air defence with sidewinder & AMRAAM missiles, the second one im gonna equip as a strike aircraft. on the other hand, since the typhoons will be multirole, i could equip them for a swing role mission, maybe with some AGM-84 SLAM-ER  ;D

here's a pic of the cockpit after painting, the ejection seat is from a 1/144 revell TF-104G kit.

and here are some pics of the aircraft on the production line, now what color scheme to use

Hello Nils!
Yes, it's an interesting build which can become a nice model. But there are some little troubles which you can correct easily with some putty and sandpaper. It isn't difficult, but model will be much better if you'll do it.
The defects I have seen are marked on these photos:

Also the wheel bay doors seem to be very thick.

Excuse me if something is wrong.
Best regards,
Alexander.

i know there are still a few flaws, but those will be taken care of
its not that easy to delete or sand of mold remains in a scale this small, but i try my best.

i spent most of the afternoon now painting & correcting on the aircraft, ive applied a 2-tone grey scheme on it.
for a moment i thought i was gonna have some serious problems with arming the aircraft, but thats been taken care of now  ;D

pics to follow....

You do cockpit detail in 1/144th scale! I cannot even see it in that scale.

FINISHED,

here's a few pics of the roll out ceremony, painted up in a quite unusual color scheme.
the inboard pylons were planned to be fitted next to the landing gear, but due to space issues i have moved them to the forward edge of the landing gear pods.
the armament consist here of 2 x AIM-9L, 4 x AIM-120, 2 x AGM-84, 2 x AGM-65 and 1 Litening Targeting pod.
still need to ad some color to the wheelcaps

here a close up of the inner pylons mounted on the landing gear pods:

and here we have 2 pics of its first carrier trials, on board the Leutonian Carrier "LNS Amanda Peet".
i know the aircraft seems a bit big when placed on the carrier, thats because she's destined to be based on a bigger carrier currently under development.
here the aircraft after landing:

and here she is, ready to take off again at the ski-jump:

Thinking of nomenclature, isn't the "Sea" prefix, superfluous?  Typhoons, afterall occur at sea.

Hm, I like the paint scheme with that dark spine.

So do Hurricanes, but the Brits had a "Sea Hurricane". And most hurricanes and typhoons eventually appear over land and do their damage. I think the moniker "Sea" was attached to carrier aircraft to indicate a "seagoing" version of a land plane.
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Hmmm that load-out looks a bit light.
;)
Nice work, Nils! I really like those Leutonian markings!

thanks everyone

@BdB: i know the loadout looks a tad light, but due to the increase in weight with the new landing gear, the payload was lightened to save weight
