OK, I didn't make it again this year but have been searching the web for some pics and have found a few.

First, the IPMS site:
http://www.ipmsusa2.org/EventsGallery/2009_Nats/index.htm
not all the categories have their pics in there yet but getting closer

The Columbus site:

Word of warning, these pics are huge and take a while to download, even with cable.  Also, the Wed and Thurs pics are mainly of the vendors but do have pics of some of the new kits coming.  Friday appears to have model pics.

Here are my pictures from the show.  The whiffs are sprinkled throughout.

A club did a series of whiff corsairs - I think I got pictures of all of them.

Enjoy!

Oh, sweet!  I picked up one of these earlier this year.  It's part of my space series of Whifs (shuttles, stations, space fighters, etc).  I'll eventually get around to posting them.

Anyone know which figure was used in this.  I wouldn't mind trying to paint her.

Mark,
Nice pics.  Did you get any info on the Corsair whiffs?  Also, how did you like the Convention itself?

Hi Philp,

I didn't get any more info on the Corsair whiffs.  I'm not even sure which club did them.  The show was great.  There was so much good work, it was amazing.  I only heard a couple of JMN's grousing about whether flaps should be up or down when a particular plane is parked.  The seminars I sat in on were really good.  The owner of Badger Airbrushes gave a talk about using airbrushes (not just Badger).  I learned a lot, and I really want to give their paints a try.  The guy that did the seminar on painting dinosaurs was awesome.  He has his work in museums and on the Discovery channel.  He really stressed how important it is to study nature and learn to really see patterns in the color and markings of various animals.  The big thing I came away with was the need to practice, practice, practice.

The best thing though was eating in the food court one evening.  I sat at a table with a lady that was at the hotel for a different convention.  We got to talking, and she asked about what we do with the models.  She didn't have a clue, so I opened one of the kits I had with me and showed her.  Then I asked her what she was there for.  No joke, she said she was there for a convention of therapists that deal with obsessive behaviors.  I told her she was in the right place, and she said to send folks her way!
