SR-71, Airliner Paint Q

Hey Guys, had an Idea and was Wondering............Would Anthracite Grey work for Painting an SR-71 or on an airliner? just something was wondering about.

Sure, why not?
There were some photos a while ago of an RAF VC-10 painted black. That was a primer layer, iirc, but it looked very cool. Either this site or Airliners.net will have those photos.
