I shouldn't have talked about the model I gave my Grandmother of a GMC 2 1/2 ton cargo truck in the markings of a vehicle in my Grandfathers quartermaster unit. Today I got an upset call from her the bookshelf it was on was knocked over my my 3 yo nephew as he was trying to get behind it (he loves playing Hide & Seek).I went to see if it could be repaired,Nope a total Humpty Dumpty job if ever I saw one.I may be able to salvage a few parts but about 60 lbs of shelf & books made a mess of the rest of it.I plan on doing a better job on it's replacement as my skills have grown since I built the origional.NOW FOR MY DILEMA I  cant remember where I found the pictures of vehicles in his unit, and my last crash wiped out the hard drive they were on and my memory stick backup of the files were corrupted :banghead: So if anyone has any info on US army quartermaster units in Normandy or Antwerp during 1944-45  or where to find such info please let me know. they are the 54th quartermaster corps
Thanks in advance

54th Quartermaster would have been a Company, Battalion, or Group size organization depending on what services and support TO&E they were authorized under and what size unit it was assigned to support.

Here are the Google search results for 54th Quartermaster which cover a variety of units from a mortuary affairs unit to direct service and support units providing laundry services.

Thanks Jeff for the the help with the start of looking the info up ,I didn't know how many 54th Quartermaster units there were but I have it narrowed down one or two battalions that fit my search. My Mom and Grandma have copies of the service records of the unit that they are going to loan me so I can narrow things down further with some of the specifics of date, locations & duties
Again Thanks for the help
