Inspired by Airplanedrivers BAe/SU 25...........

The British Army Helicopter forces are stretched with current commitments. The current Govt look for a cheaper alternative to supplement the Forces abroad. An undisclosed number of KA 52's are purchased (app 5 for the price of 2 AH64D's)......engines are replaced with RR RTM322,the fixed cannon is re chambered for NATO Rarden 30mm ammunition and is found to be more accurate than the suspended mounted weapons. Avionics and optical/radar systems are upgraded at minimal cost to allow use of NATO weapons (if they weren't cleared already....) The crews became fond of them, especially the manoeuvrability

I used the Italeri 1/72 kit no. 005,lovely little kit n bought cheap,I cut up a triple Maverick launcher n att the singles under the wing,I thought the rocket pod n 4 hellfire give it a purposeful look,I got plans for an escort version Zvezda KA50 night hunter to escort my MI 24 CSAR helo....all in the pipeline, working around a 10 month old n a house move......

I have the zvesda Ka-50 night hunter in my stash, very nice kit it is too. Ther Ka-58's are pretty nice models also, I did one as an air superiority version, armed with six aam's.There is nothing run of the mill about Kamov helicopters, that is what I like about them
Cheers,
Chris.

Way cool! Neat idea and pretty cool load-out.

Also love the ideas of the escort Ka-50 and the CSAR Hind!

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Thanks for the kind comments.......I can't wait to do my Hind....I was thinking sliding doors like a Puma....A hoist n door guns as well as a different nose mounted gun.....not sure of load out yet but prob  a gun pod on each wing with a rocket pod on each as well.....maybe some hellfire on the tip launchers.....although the escorts should take care of any problems....but you never know... ;D

Yeah, I have 2 Italeri Hinds and the HobbyBoss Hind in the stash, and the Hobbyboss one is certainly the best buy as it has loads of load out options with it. I was thinking about the conversion you was going to do to your Hind regarding the Puma doors, I think, they might be a bit tall to fit the gap, but I have not measured it up as yet. I was thinking of doing a similar conversion to the Italeri "wrong" Mi-28, as the fuselage is just crying out to have some sliding doors in the sides.

Superb Werewolf dude!

Somewhere in the stash I've got the old inaccurate AMT Ka-50 (the tandem 2-seater) that will get built as a naval ASW/Amphib support bird.

Thank you all for the comments....Chris,I think I should have made it clearer...Puma style doors....might use the doors from the kit with scratchbuilt rails although I don't think they would slide all the way back coz of the stubb wing,I have the hobbyboss kit n I think it is the best in 1/72. I just missed out a little while ago on fleabay for a 1/48 Hokum with no clear parts, was a bargain......damn!

Very nice to see a British Ka-52 - the Mavericks are beefy on the stub wings, and the Hellfires (Maybe Brimstones) and Rockets give it a little more rounded look.

I have the Hase 24P, Italeri 24V (x2 but one's toast/salvage) and the HB 24V in my stash, and a Hase Hind A I did up - look up my big thread, I did the 24A in PLAAF Scaly Lizard.  I'm looking forward to seeing your Hind - sliding doors would look pretty interesting, though you might want to consider rigging a step on the door sides if you do - it could be quite the climb getting in the cabin otherwise.
