Well I've got a Smer Hi-Tech Avia S-92 (Czech-built Me-262) which was always inteded as a RW build: it looks like a whiff but it isn't. It'd go well as a precursor to a genuinely whiffy developed version from an alternate timeline too.

so, since its real world is it only restricted to aircraft?.............or will boats, cars, bikes and trains etc be allowed?

i would assume, thats anything goes, so long as its real.

What about "cannon" sci-fi, i.e. accurate-to-the-film models of X-wings, USS Enterprise etc.....?

I personally think "canon" sci-fi works as it is from the "reel" world .  I also think that aircraft, armor, etc as used in movies would be allowed.  This lets you do F-84F Migs, Tora, Tora, Tora Zero's, Kelly's Heroes Tigers, etc.

I personally don't think we should do it as the inverted snoberry we will all so happily indulge in is just as bad as what the JMN's do.
We are a what if site, we don't need to have a week of real builds, we can post them anytime no-one minds, so what if ARC has a silly week ( notice they call it " silly ", so you can read the mindset ) we are not ARC, why copy others ?

Anyway not an attack on anyone just how I feel about it

I like the idea of Serious/Sensible week, though I do understand that it could be misunderstood as elitist.  However, this is probably one of the most laid back boards ever, so looking at our forum posts for half a second should eleviate any worries on that score.

I'm voting for April 1-7, and I'm either going to be building the USS Dunderberg/Rochambeau or the USS Vesuvius.

I like the former better, but the latter has dynamite guns.  Literally.

Dynamite.

Guns.

Even if the ship was a failure (and it was...) DYNAMITE GUNS!!!

Ahem.

It seems that the build will actually go ahead. As for the name, we normally find whiffs normal, so how about naming it the silly GB/week?

I still like Silly Week for it as 787 said, these are silly for us where whiffs are sensible.

Or, to be different from that other site, how about some of these:
Foolish Week
Absurd Week
Ridiculous Week
Senseless Week
Goofy Week (hyuck)
Crazy Week
Idiotic Week
Wacky Week (like the sound of this one)
Loony Week

I prefer calling it "Sensible Week". Keep in mind that some things need 'translated' for the non-whiffers. We should send this over to Steve on ARC. He may post a link and a few pics. It would be a nice tie-in with his Silly Week.

Will we be posting our progress in a thread? I've started my Tomcat and was wondering if there will be a speciall place to post our progress.
Look behind you!
