For the most part, 'other shapes' are just a dome or flat cover over the parabolic dish. These domes are easily made, and certainly doable with 1950s technology.

OK, it's been a while but there has been some progress.

Decided to change the design and have four 40mm guns in an enclosed turret. The attached picture shows the assembled turret. The big bulge is the target acquisition radar, the smaller one is for tracking. I've used body putty to smooth the gaps in between the bits I've glued on to the styrene sheet box. Once that drys and is smoothed down, more stuff can be added to clutter up the turret and hide the problems...........
If this is Upper Silesia, one can only wonder what Lower Silesia is like.
