Which is exactly what happened.  The desert pink applied IRL was a tempory finish, Alkali Removable IIRC, and flaked off all over the place, especially leading edges.

Mish, what did you use for the Desert Pink?

The paint is Xtracrylic you can see the pot in the background in a couple of the pics.

Looking good Mish - the weathering's really convincing.

BTW, re the earlier discussion about chaff, in the upside-down pic, you can see the built-in chaff launchers: they're the square panels under the wingtips and at the back of the main u/c fairings.

Yeah I worked that out after the last comments thanks, may get the stores done, put on and the decals done later today. And I just know the decals will upset some purists elsewhere

Looking good with the weathered desert pink.   Am eagerly awaiting the finished product.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Nice to see an update, Big Bird (funny, you don't look 40 like everyone else on Sesame Street). I think the desert pink looks great. My guess is RAF markings which would be stunning on the pink.

Looks really good, BB - the paint detail really adds to it, with the whole effect of the chipped off desert pink, like she's been out in the sand smashing the other kids' toys for a while.

Most excellent, Big Bird! Few things compliment desert pink better than RAF markings!
