I love you.

Erm, where was I?

This is totally doable, and should not be part of a vote I put up since I'll automatically make this win.

Count me in!
Apropos, some chap from Down Under is busy making conversion sets in 1/32, 1/48 and 1/72 for an F-15 ACTIVE.  Yes, that nice F-15 with F/A-18s stabs for canards.  Have a look at his work so far >>HERE<< on ARC.

Anyone who's built as many F-15s as Anthony should not be allowed to take part.  He's had too much practice.

I am kidding, of course.

I thought some more about this. As much as I love the Eagle, wouldn't it be better to make this a "Teen Series" fighter GB and include the F-14, F-16 and and F/A-18 as well? Would open it to entries by many more people, as a single type may not yield many participants. Also, in a GB poll a single type GB may not actually make it to the top (unless you tweak the numbers, but we don't do that, right?). And, last but not least, a Teen GB would be able to show that teen series fighters don't necessarily have to be boring grey.

Well my idea was to broaden the scope in another direction: McDonnell Douglas planes which unfortunately would leave F-14 out.
But then F-4 would be in

So I have just decided to rename this GB as 'McCoolness GB'   :drink:

Now, I have to ask Radish to merge his 500 Phantom GB with this.
I will wear some sexy lingery if this GB goes active!

No worries....I'm in.

I'll sort out some of my what if? F-4 builds too, including what's been done so far.....

1/48th Orkenwaffe single-seater
1/72nd.....quite a few really.

F-15...includes a Roman one...wonder if I've still got it.

I MUST get into the loft to find made up models AND photograph them too....

Can you share with us your ideas about Roman F-15? Please

McDonnell Douglas or McDonnell and Douglas?

If the former its kinda limiting subject wise:
F-15, F-18, DC-10, MD-11(warmed over DC-10), MD-80 (warmed over DC-9), YC-15, and C-17
along with various cooperation projects (AV-8B, T-45, Br 941, F-23 etc.) and unbuilt civil
and military projects.

BTW the F-4 is a pre-merger McDonnell aircraft not McDonnell Douglas, the McDonnell Douglas Company
began operating on April 28, 1967.

Logan Hartke

I think it's McDonnell and McDonnell Douglas, hence the McCoolness.  If it was a Douglas-only project (like the Dauntless, for example), it's out, but the XP-67 Moonbat would be in.  That's my understanding at least.

Cheers,

Logan

I was thinking as Logan says.

I mean, Douglas made pretty cool planes like Invader, Skyraider or Skyhawk. But IMO -this is just personal taste- Douglas coolness is quite different: Douglas planes look to me as very well balanced and easy to use, they are machines to work well for many years; a full loaded Skyhawk is absolutely cool, but empty looks so humble... In the other hand, McDonnell look more brilliant and difficult to use; its coolness is more 'extreme' (if I can use this word). IMO F-15 is in McCoolness cathegory more than in Douglass. I would not include AV-8 because its origin is different and while I have doubts about F-18, am inclined to include it here, and F-23 too.

BTW, if I change planes by aircrafts, could Apache be included

Of course there is room for other GB devoted to Douglas products

Tell me your opinions, please.

Apache was Hughes until 1984 and McD-D was heavily involved in designing the AV-8B Harrier II,
the wing for example is a McD-D design.
Ditto the F-18, McD-D majorly redesigned the F-17 to get to the F-18, and they did it again when
the F-18E/F was developed.

I've always fancied a crack at the McDonnell Douglas JAST proposal.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
