Diorama Light Q

Hey guys, was Just Wondering if Anyone has Used LEDs for Lighting a Diorama or Knows if they could Be used for a Diorama????? had an Idea & Figured you guys might know. Thanks for Looking. Dan

Never done it in a diorama as such, but they are generally good for this kind of application. One think you have to watch is that standard LEDs need an in-line resistor in order to work properly, and you need to know a bit of electronics to get the right rating (plenty of advice out there, though). You can also get "idiot-proof" LEDs with built-in resistors: these can be just dropped into a circuit like a regular bulb, but the last time I looked (a few years ago) there wasn't the same choice of colours and sizes, particularly very small sizes.

I used LED's in a lancaster build some years ago (landing lights ect) and they were great, cant imagine why they wouldnt still be perfect in the diorama itself... Go for it i say !   :bow:

The Diorama I'm planning involves Building a Lighthouse, was Thinking LEDs would work for that.

I believe MicroMark make an LED set just for lighthouses, with a flashing bulb.
