In need of Ideas for cartel markings.

Hya folks,
For quite a while now I have been wondering what markings to use on my cartel aircraft They are all ex soviet/Russian aircraft, most if not all in non standard colour schemes and I want an insignia for them all also. I am also in need of some markings for my SHADO aircraft and vehicles, but I think maybe just some lettering should be ok for those. Any ideas or pointers would be most helpful.

Does the cartel have political ambitions, or are they purely drug-runners? Do they have a public front (like a shell company they operate under), or not?

How about a line of white powder on a mirror? Or a nasty looking syringe?

Or one of them mini set of scales for weighing tiny amounts of powder?

SHADO's actual logo is disgustingly complicated, so you are better off with just lettering as seen in the show.

Cartel markings:
White circle (the pill)
White oval (the capsule)
Two crossed unconcious junkies emblazoned on a field of unconcious junkies?
Crossed hypodermics?
A psychadelic tie-die roundal?
Crossed spliffs?
Marijuana leaf?

Here's a link to a guy who builds Gerry Anderson models, including SHADO ones. It shows you the type of markings used, which are actually really inconsistent, i.e. the Lunar Interceptors and transport ship have none, the crawlers have lettering and numbers, and SKYDIVER (the submarine/interceptor) only has it's own name.

The cartel are not really into politics, apart from a couple of high ranking officials who are payrolled into "ordering" weapons and hardware from anyone willing to sell to the Nicaraguan government. These two "officials" are in charge of import export and military equipment acquisition.
Thus, if the Cartel want something they send a list to the said people, and the paperwork is all doctored and stamped to look official but without the higher powers that be knowing. The hardware is carried be a small shipping company that is also on the payroll, and it ends up being landed at a cartel held port. All very well planned out and "safe".
I am thinking of just a simple type of roundel for the aircraft, and perhaps incorporate it into a flag also.

how about a Roundel with Crossed Machetes in the Middle?

For the cartel, how about something similar to the Canadian roundel, but with a marijuana leaf rather than a maple leaf. I've been thinking of doing one of the inaccurate Revell ATB kits as a CB-2 in cartel markings.

Few ideas for SHADO lettering:

The idea is that the grey "front" letters are in a colour that's only slightly different from the background, but the "shadow" letters are always black (or high-contrast, if the background is black). fFor example:

Erm....?
It is a Nicaraguan cartel actually, hence the Honduras AF involvement, and the large number of counter insurgency aircraft involved.
Nice SHADO markings though, I think I can use some of those.

Warhammer have some nice decals for the Tau & other aliens, also trolls etc that may suit. You can get them by mail-order from the manufacturer, discussion group or maybe from a local club.

I think I have found what I want to use as my Cartel roundels, The main part of the south Vietnamese air force logo is a roundel with a gold star in the middle of a gold circle, with a red background. All I need to do now is accumulate a load of these from somewhere.

You sure you don't want a Columbian Cartel to go with the Nicaraguan one?
