This possibly is of use to those in the Croydon or Manchester area's where I think the only 2 UK stores are.

I was in "Clas Ohlson" yesterday picking up some odds and sods on the DIY front and spotted coils of wire.

Picked up a couple of packets of 0.5mm brass wire and some "spools" of 0.8mm stainless wire. Really usefull for pinning wings and undercart etc. Amount I got should last ages  ;D

Great place for browsing as they have all sorts of wonderful stuff in a "Scandanavian" way.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Depending on what your intended purpose is for the wire will determine whether a strong or soft type of metal is desired.  I have found that the green painted wire sold for creating floral arrangements is ideal for detail work where you need something that is malleable and able to hold its shape after bending.  Stronger wire for the purpose of adding strength or durability to parts is usually not ideal for detail work.  Here in the states most of the arts and craft type stores sell the florists wire in two choices (with or without the green paint) and several different gauges and varying amounts for a reasonable price.
