Dont give up Joe! I built one of these a while back and its a beauty, see if you can work out some landing gear that'll fit in the wheel well and keep the wing tips off the ground in a cross wind (I failed) !

cool, that looks really good, is it a resin kit? or scratchbuilt? i will definately be using your photo for reference as to how it should look, go on post up an underside view too, id love to see your undercarriage arrangement. my own model has now got as far as having a gearbox made for the scissor movement and some basic internal bulkheads for strength, ill see how far i get over the chrimbo break

Mine is just the unicraft resin, i wasnt brave enough to try any internal gears!
ive attached a pic of the u/c, which should in theory work but in order to provide ground stabilty, sacrifices ground clearance!
I think the locating points for the centre of each wing might be offset enough to allow for an interlocking cog type mechanism to rotate the wings in opposition, but youve probably already thought of that! Look forwards to see you machine progress  


although you cant see in the pics the u/c legs pivot halfway down their length on a  upside down 'v' strut just like an oar pivots. The ends of the oleos are connected to a push rod that when extended  causes the legs to pivot , rotating the u/c forwards and up into the bay. i also thought that the legs might have two sections each, comprising an hydraulic extension which would only work when the engines were running, causing the a/c to lower for access and maintenance when switched off and raise for ground clearance and stability once the pilot was in and the engines run up. Let hope it never suffers power failure on landing!

someone on Hyperscale did on of these in 48 scale about 2 months ago - looks up the links and it might give you some ideas - and i agree with Deon - keep going with the project.
