Good luck with that Jon - had my gall bladder out last year.  General Melchett (a paramedic) told me that the attacks are one of the 2 most painful things people can suffer from, and 3 women at work who've had them told me it's worse than child birth!

Obviously its pretty painful at first with your abdomen all stitched up, although by far the worst part is the pain from the trapped air after they inflate your stomach  Just watch out for the 2-3 weeks of diarhoeaa whilst your body gets used to the new plumbing!
