My current project.Hope it might be of interest. This is the long range patrol/ interceptor version of the TU-22. Regardless of this aircraft's problems ( both in the real and, the kit world!), I felt that this sleek beauty looked totally naked without a bucket load of missiles on board

Aircraft is a 2 seater (Pilot & RSO). The redesigned nose section reduces the overall length by about 2 metres. The rearward firing 23 mm cannon is deleted. I had originally intended to install 4 "folding fin" versions of the R40T missile on retractable launchers in the bomb bay. Unfortunately, I was struck by a recurrence of L M S ( Lazy Modeller Syndrome!) ;D The missiles are t4emporarily taqcked into place using blu-tack. I just couldn't resist seeing how it would look!! ;D

Forward of the nose wheel bay, I have installed a pair of NR30 30mm cannons. OK - this machine would never get involved in a furball but, I could just imagine the steady stream of Russian curses emanating from Col I M A Sonovabich upon confronting a nice fat juicy B-52 after he had expended his missiles! :banghead:

Ground clearance might be a problem but, surely no worse than when trying to load a Blue Steel on to a Victor. I intend to show her in an "experimental" 3 tone blue/grey colour scheme.

I am almost finished my B-52J -currently having decals applied. Pictures to follow

Cool! Slightly Tu-128-ish I think. She should look great when complete. :)
