I was browsing through my latest Air-Britain magazines I subscribe to today, and to my amazement I see a photo of a real Astazou powered executive aircraft which looks remarkable like what I've done to my Basset.  A google image search produced some more pics.

This is a Beech-SFERMA PD.146

Indeed Robert,

the Beech Sferma Marquis, not many of them were built.

Alle kunst ist umsunst wenn ein engel auf das zundloch brunzt!!

Sic biscuitus disintegratum!

Cats are not real.
They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

And there's me thinking I've come up with something original  ----

That would seem to be WELL over-powered! Consideraing the same two engines are used on a Jetstream and a Pucara that thing's got to go like CRAZY!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

From the mountains in the background that pilot would welcome all the "push" he could get! Looks cool!

The caption next to the photo in my magazine says it's a Beech Travel Air fitted with a swept tail and the Astazou engines to offer 'fast & comfortable' travel
