Here's some in-process and completed pics of the Aoshima 1/144 Thunderbird 1. I just haven't done any weathering on it. All the blue trim and black stripes are painted on. The model is only about 10" tall.

And here's the link to my Photobucket page for a few more pics:

Cheers Mark - been wondering what that kit was like!

Now who's going to do one in RAF Strike Command colours, with a Thunderbird 2 in Transport Command colours to match it?

Thanks for the comments so far. About the only issue with the kit are the decals. They are like leather. Even after numerous coats of Solvaset they wouldn't settle into the recesses without a little coaxing from the edge of a toothpick. Luckily most of the surfaces they are placed on are flat and no panel lines except for the hugh "Thunderbird" and the "1". I trimmed a lot of the decal film away from the "Thunderbird" letter edges.

Lovely work on T1 Mark!  Looking forward to seeing her weathered up.

Spotted these some time ago, although I lifted these off the web.  I think the original T2 is by Martin H, the film T2 might be too, or by by someone else, I've had a drink since then.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That's a great metallic finish, Mark! Now all you need are some 1/144 figures with 1/96 (or 1/72) scale heads...

Martin H

Try it the other way around simon lol.
I did the the "new" TB2 and TSRjoe did the original version.

Well, maybe I'll confess I had a little more than a drink since then!
