Didn't some Vietnamese villages convert F-4 drop tanks into canoes?

Yep!  The F-4's dropped thousands of the things all over the jungle.  Some enterprising fella realised they'd make very good canoes & the idea caught on.  This one is from Laos & hangs in the lobby of the Royal Armouries at Leeds, I snapped it on a visit a few years ago:

How is the fuel kept in them? In removable bladders of some kind?
