Hey Guys, Just had a Thought, What If the Mig-21 were Combined with Either an SU-22 or a Su-9 to Create a Super Interceptor????????? just something that Came to me Just now. Think a Mig-21 would also work for a 'Gerry Anderson' style WHIF??????? What say You?????? Thanks for Looking. Dan

I guess I'm a little confused.  I don't see how you would combine the MiG 21 with the Su 22 or Su 9.  The Su 9 is basically the same configuration as the MiG just scaled up in size.  The Su 22 is basically the same shape as the Su 9 but with the swing wing.  Maybe a sketch or drawing showing what you have in mind.

I'd be more inclined to try to combine a MiG-21 MF (or later variant) with the Su-15 Flagon.

I think the wings, tail surfaces and bubble canopy of the Flagon would look quite striking married up to a MiG-21 fuselage.

I've seen an Su-7 (same basic fuselage as Su-9) next to a MiG-21 MF and I think the Fitter is just way too big to marry up to the Fishbed in any way.

Unless I've been misinformed, the Flagon is a good bit smaller than the Fitter and might be more in the size bracket for successful mating with a Fishbed.

Well, how about a MiG-21 with a nose radome and side intakes?  Alternatively, how about a Ye-2 derivative with a Fitter-style VG wing?

Of course, I've also thought of fitting a Su-15 with the VG-wing of a SU-22 as a strike aircraft.
