Airliners for ASR Duty

Hey Guys, Tell me what You Think:What If Planes like the 747,Airbus A380,etc. were Used for ASR Duty? not to land on the Water but to Deliver Emergency Supplies, Co ordinate Rescue Ops, Etc. Just an Idea that Hit me without Warning. Thanks for looking.Dan

The P-8 Poseidon has a bombay so perhaps 737-800's could add that feature
