Hey Guys, just had a Wild Idea: What If the Canberra Bomber was Crossed with an SR-71 to Create a 'Thunderbirds' World Air Force Bomber? or Combine a Canberra with a B-58 for Something Right out of 'Thunderbirds'??? think Either of these would work?????? have Any ideas of Your Own????? i bought a Canberra Bomber Model with Plans 'Ace Combat' the Jet, But Suddenly had an Idea about getting AnotherCanberra and Going 'Gerry Anderson' with it!!!!! Thanks for Looking. Dan

A delta-Canberra would be interesting, certainly. And podded engines could be cool as well.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

A delta Canberra with the original inner wings and delta outers would have a plan view similar to a number of real high-speed research proposals (the inner wing thickness would still be too great though). Alternatively, you could always mate a 1/48th Canberra body to a 1/72nd or 1/96th Vulcan wing, complete with engines.

A while back, I had a similar sort of idea for a low-level striker. It would have an SR-71ish body but flaring out much more to a Hunter T.7ish nose. There'd be a central fin and no wing outboard of the very long engine pods, so it would be a lifting body, essentially. Each engine pod would carry two all-moving outboard control surfaces, the front ones moving differentially for roll control (since they're near the CofG) and the aft ones collectively for pitch. There'd also be a pair of small LARC-style ride-control fins on the sides of the cockpit "hump". Weapons would be in tandem conformal troughs under the fuselage, and on corner pylons on the engine pods.
