Random thought: I love Matchbox kits. What's your nostalgic favorite and why?

A friend built this for the Biggles stand at Telford last year, in "authentic" Biggles markings....

Fond memories of Matchbox.  My first kits were a 1/72 Mirage 2000 (B?) and a 1/72 Ju-87. First kit I bought with my own money was a Matchbox 1/144 Tornado Gr.1 "MiG Eater". Then I built a lot of other Matchbox kits. Mostly because they were very pocket money-friendly. ;D 1/72 MiG-21MF, 1/72 Spit Mk. XVI, 1/144 MiG-23 Flogger, some Do-335 (twin-seater in 1/48?), a lot from the 1/76 tank range...

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Yep, Matchbox all the way.  Something very friendly about those kits...many fond memories of the old 3-color-scheme.   They were a great way to get into the hobby back then.
