If you haven't noticed, the Nomination Polls are up and running.

Go n and pick your favorite 5 from each of the 18 categories to see who moves on.

Done. Some awesome stuff this year!

On a different note... I certainly do not consider myself to be the best profiler/imager there is, but I've got to say I'm a little stunned that NONE of the 130+ aircraft I created and posted on this forum in 2010 was even nominated in the imaging category!  :o :o :o

I know I won the Whiffie last year in that category , so it's cool to let others win this time around...  but zero nomination? Even more surprising, I got nominated in the profiling category while I mostly recycle existing artwork, and it's obvious that many others here are dedicated profilers who do a much better job than me...

So really, I'm utterly puzzled...

Stargazer, my oversight has been corrected and I added you to the Imager poll when I got home from work.  Completely my fault and couldn't believe when I was looking at the category and didn't see your name.  I had also left off the entire Scratchbuilt category.  Must be getting old.

Both have been rectified and since people can change their votes, and there haven't been that many voters yet, should still get a good number.

So it WAS an oversight. Phew!!! I don't work for recognition (pleasure comes first!) but I really felt I'd been treated unfairly... Thank you so much!!!

Well done Phil you put an awful lot of work into this

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Just finished with the voting which took me about 3 days to complete as every catagory was very hard when choosing my 5 best and I would like to echo Narses comments and thank Phil for all the hard work and time in putting this all together. Top Admin fella.

Ditto the above.  Well done so far and good luck on the night.  If you post with a stammer you might just beat Colin Firth to Best Actor!

Just finished voting - a very difficult job separating many of the nominations.

My only gripe is that it would have been easier & faster if the links went directly to an image/images of the subject.

Especially where a person has had numerous nominations & has used an eternal thread to record their work, because my computer kept going to the last place I had been on that person's thread; so, consequently, I had to search through 26, 88, 30-odd pages of thread hunting for the appropriate entry. Unfortunately, some entries may have missed being nominated by me merely because I couldn't find them.

Sorry!

I am forced to agree with the wombat (I always agree with wombats, it saves trouble) I found it very frustrating scrolling through the eterna-threads to find the relevant pics.
It'd be really nice if we could have thumbnail images of the nominations although this is obviously more work (re-sizing pics, posting pics etc. etc.)

Sorry guys but putting thumbnails into polls with 25 + entries would take a lot of room.  Also, almost all of the entries pictures can be found in the sway thread.  I also don't have the skill to resize a bunch of pics.  All of the links were those supplied in the sway thread.

I planned on including pics in the final voting polls so you all will be able to see the final builds.

Hey Philip you have done a fine job with all this.  While some of the threads are a pita to look through the organization and the fact that there are separate links to each nominee is most excellent.

Phil has done a great job, no real complaints there.

My biggest issue is with the "eternal threads" that some people use to record their work. I can understand it for the Profilers & Alt Historians but I really think modellers should try to put only a few builds per thread at most, especially when each build incorporates 5-10 pages of build images & comments & only 1 post of finished-build pictures.

That is not to say I don't like the build process shots, I do, but it gets a bit tedious looking through these mega-threads trying to find & identify the 1 post of the subject you're looking for.

If you want to keep images of older work available wouldn't the gallery be a better place?
