chaps
I have completed the body work on a a380 cargo aircraft i hope to have ready for the Perth show but now i dont know what to paint it as.
i want to stay away from the boring all white look, that civ aircraft are all moving to, they starting to rival the boring all over gray of the military.
so if you have a good idea then post it up, both military and civ will be considered

Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

Lenny, a few options you may want to think about, I'm sorry I don't have the photos to hand but Airliners.net can help:

From civil life:
1. Qantas 'Wunala Dreaming' scheme - whole aircraft done over in Aboriginal motifs on a deep red / orange background;
2. ANA Pokemon scheme - mid blue and white with the little critters all over the thing;
3. FedEx if you like purple;
4. CPAir - silver with huge bands of orange and red on the fuselage and tail;
5. Retro BEA or BOAC scheme; or
6. one of the F1 support planes covered in sponsors logos, what about a Ferrari jobbie?

From the military:
1. USAF Tricentennial scheme - Red white and blue everywhere with all the flags etc, same as the Bicentennial Phantom, Whiffed to 2076 AD;
2. Retro USAF MATS scheme - overall bare metal / silver with white and yellow trim;
3. NASA 3rd generation space shuttle transporter;
4. Aussie tac camo scheme as applied to C130Es; or
5. RAF commemorative scheme for the RAF Benevolent Fund, sized up from the one they have ont he Hawk now.

Whatever you go with I'm looking forward to seeing this one.
Going to be finished in 2021 BEFORE I start any da*!#d new ones - CF-IDS Wolverine; Douglas Mawson; Bubba Wants a Fishin' Rig; NA F-100

Against the Wall - Maton Dreadnought; Fender Telecaster; Epiphone Les Paul Studio

How about a red, white and blue Heavylift scheme, but with the whole fuselage being mostly red and blue like the tail on real ones?

Qatar Airways like their C-17's?  Filling a dual civil & military role.  The passenger version already flys with them of course.
Polet Flight, white topsides, but with large areas of deep blue.  Rob the decals from a Revell An-124.
DHL, overall yellow with red stripes, logo & undersides.  Very bright!
Cathay Pacific, allover NMF.  Decals from Big H.
Aeroflot, silver with blue tail & Russian flag.  They've recentley taken to operating western aircraft.  Decals from Big H.
Royal Mail, bright red with yellow stripes, G-PPAT??? ;D
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Captain Canada

I like the CP idea ! And the heavylift one....I was going to mention Evergreen, I like the way their Jumbos look.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

How about a MacDonalds scheme - this is what wou will need if one keeps eating...

I think it might look good in the old Canadian Airlines scheme:

It has some white to it, but it's nicely offset by dark blue with the grey and red trim.

Have you heard about the flying boat version of the A380?

Oh come on now! You know as well as the rest of us that the only camo that would look good on it is Swedish splinter! :wacko:
