Now the F111 is built im going to  have a go at a simple turret swap job.
ill be taking my slightly battered tamiya 1:35 scale Marder icv, and replace the turret with the equaly battered Cheiftain one, giving a overgunned tank hunter type,  i recon that the weight problem is solved by simply machineing internal metal out of the turret structure. Itll hopefuly look like a resonably possible Twilight 2000 / post apoc lash up.
any comments  ?

take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

If the Marder VTS-1 could handle a 105 and the CV90120 a low-pressure 120, why the heck not!

ive started, de turreted both, then de hatched the marder, used a circle cutter to put in a turret ring, and removed anything that stood proud on the marder body cut some platicard circles to fill in the remote MG mount and the 2 remaing body circular hatches, and glued the nose back together, though im slightly at a loss as the back hull plate appears to be a bit far back now..... :banghead: still itll be clamped in place then a large wodge of glue added to hold it in place.
a quick question for any one as well.    does the marders auto cannon pod hold the gun and ammo in toto?  as it seems a bit of a waste not using it, though im not too shure where id put it on the cheftain turret if i do.
for cammo ittl be a lovely mix of berlin turret and the 3 tone system that the Germans used for the hull. should clash well.

The Marder's Rh202 RWS has a basket beneath it (if that's what you're asking). If you want a stand-alone RWS, use the rear MG RWS -- it's genuinely 'remote' and self-contained.

This sounds pretty cool and I'm looking forward to the photos. Were you inspired by the Argentine TAM? LINK
Some clever and amusing quote goes here.

vaguely inspired by the TAm , yes. that and ive had both kits built for 20 ish years, 5 ish house moves and uni, and both were looking a little worse for wear and the hard angles of the marder seemed to mach the turrets curves in a way simaler to some of the sci fi  / post apoc  vehicles ive seen.
