Fairey design a new fighter to Air Ministry Specification F.9/35 the same one that was eventually to give the RAF the Boulton Paul Defiant.

They decide to take the Hawker Demon as their inspiration and create a Merlin engined fighter which while equiped with a turret also has a powerful forward facing armament taking advantage of the biplane design to fit weaponry into the upper wings as well

Neat concept! Methinks later production models are going to need a bigger tail but that's what prototypes are for!  :lol:
