One of the most powerful and possibly the greatest pieces of TV of the Monochrome era, the Rudolph Cartier production of George Orwell's "1984". 

Creaky, yes - it was made in 1954!  But it's got lots of atmosphereand Peter Cushing is superb as Winston Smith.
