Well thanks everyone.  Nobody's ever seen these things except family and friends before.  It's like letting a skeleton out of the closet.  Nice to know it passes muster.  It fuels me to set up my work area quicker so I can get going again.  So many ideas, so little time!

There.  Blew the cobwebs out and did a one day build challenge.  From Snap-tite Nascar to "Prohibition 2212" General Li.  A pretty gruesome hack job, but hey, I only had 24 hours.  Getting back on the horse is hard, so this helped knock that hurdle over.  A dedicated work area is paramount to steady progress on any project I think.

It was a 1/32 scale Snap-Tite Gordon Thunderbat T-Bird that was languishing at the bottom of a stash box.  I had planned to use Apache engine nacelles, but it didn't look right, so I opted for the tried and true A-10 pods, flipped them around and used them to cap off a snakes nest of bent sprue.  I filled the cabin with jerry cans and a 55 gallon drum from old parts, and more or less bashed the rest from random stuff in reserve.  The process, completed in about 22 hours, is documented here:

I will say that heat lamps melt plastic when left unattended too long, paint doesn't dry near as fast as you'd like, and 24 hours goes by mighty fast. 

Conversely, I am proud that I didn't superglue myself to myself or anything else!!!!!! 

Thanks for the compliment, from certain angles it's got a good "look" to it.  I was going to do a wasteland warrior car, but just couldn't settle for a look to give it.  After building it I was reminded of The Fifth Element.

Thought they were Warthog engines, just had that look.

I do the Blitzbau over at UAMF a couple times a year.  Lessons learned.  Pic a 1 color paint scheme.  Start at midnight by spraying the parts.  Go to bed to let paint dry.
Get up, finish build.  Less decals means better chance to finish.

Love some of the armour, especially the big one ! It's funny as 84-85 is the same time as I used to daydream and draw pics of some very similar stuff....I guess I should have got out more often as well !
