I was thinking 'how could a Defiant be useful in North Africa'?

A dedicated low-level attack aircraft....

As you can see it has retained its turret, but it also now has 4x 20mm cannon in the wings. It's going to be finished in RAF desert colours.

Also noticed it is compulsory to include beer/ale in the photos, so I though I would oblige.   :drink:

Looking good!

Not compulsory, though not discouraged either .

All hail the God of Frustration!!!

Always nice to see Defiant's don't get many of them
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Scab some armor plate under the engine and cockpit, and you have the RAF version of a Sturmovic.  Definitely needs some rockets on the wings as well.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

And a much more powerful engine to pull all that around, I think!

I was reading an article about the Fairey Gannet and one of the engines mooted for it was the Fairey P.24.  This was an engine with similar configuration to the Napier Sabre only it was stood vertically and each side drove it's own propeller, an example was tested in a Fairey Battle which greatly enhanced it's performance.  The nose area of the Battle is not a lot different to the Defiant' so something like that would work wonders in improving the performance of the Defiant.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike
