Question from another (non-modelling) site: a lady wants to buy her husband a wooden Viking longboat model (i.e. not a plastic kit). What's available in the UK?

These two have already been suggested:

Billing Boats do two:

Roar Ege, goes for around seventy quid.  Doesn't look like the 'classic' Viking ship, but it's an accurate build of a real ship found in Denmark & cheaper than the Oseberg kit.  In their 'Advanced Beginner' range.

Oseberg, goes for around a hundred & ten quid.  Much more the classic Viking ship, again, it's based on a real ship.  In their 'Experienced' range.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Cheers Mossie - I've passed that along.
