Has the wing shape itself changed? Or are the changes only in the area around the engines? If the outer wing can be reused, it should be possible to do a conversion kit for not too much money...

The wing is described as 'larger' but I think that this includes the wing roots for the new engines.  I think there are differences in panel lines & lumps & bumps.  Not insurmountable for a conversion kit, supply the extras, with a guide on how to rescribe.  Maybe not a simple cut & shunt, but probably doable.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

My understanding is that although the MRA.4 wing looks similar from a distance, it is, in fact, subtly different in almost every respect, including a different wing section and increased span (I don't have figures to hand and we never get MR.2 wings in the factory so I can't go and look at one).

I think a conversion kit would have to consist of a complete new wing, tip-to-tip. Vac form with resin fittings, possibly? Bear in mind that the details of the bomb bay doors and much of the pannier are different too.
