Hi,
I read an article stating that the Austin FX4 and LTI versions are to be taken off the road and that the black cab drivers are to use the TXI, TXII and TX4.
Which will mean that you can buy a people carrier, with a 17 foot turning circle dirt cheap.
The FX4 replaced the FX3 in 1958 and was produced until 1997. Carbodies took over the production in 1982. Engines included the LandRover 2286cc/63 bhp up to the Mazda 2977cc. Power steering was introduced, but you had to buy your own aircon, the alternative was a sunroof. five passengers can be carried in the back and a sixth with a fitted jump-seat in the front passenger. Often used to house luggage as the boot opens outwards.
A two door option was built, but this was converted into a hearse.
Mann and Overton are the main supplier for the TXI, TXII and TX4 (TX4 named as it complies with European  4 emissions). Mann and Overton's main rival Beardmore did come up with an alternative; the FL2 Limo. sold to the public minus the taxi sign and meter. with power steering, wooden steering wheel and leather upholstery. Other models appeared such as the:
London Sterling (geared for the USA market, but failed to make any sales)
Gulbenkian
Royal Mail Van
Laundalette- London Taxi Exports Cabriolet version, van and 2 door.
Tickford-stretched
Coleman Milne Limo-Stretch

Do you know of any plastic kits? I know you can diecast models.
