Hey JoeP nice work.  The tank turret would be nice for close support. Not to hijack the thread, but can I get a shot or a link to the carrier (looks like an american CV in JMSDF service) in the background, especially the skycrane parked around the arresting wires area and the rear well deck.  Another 1/700 fan here.  Thanks.

Cool stuff!

Would you have some more pics of that Japanese carrier? And where did you find that Zubr-class LCAC?

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Joe C-P

I can and will.

The USS Puller, nicknamed "The Zoober", is a former Greek Navy Zubr. The kit came from an old Skywave/Pitroad kit of Soviet landing craft, which had a Zubr, an Aist, and a Gus and some smaller boats and few tanks.

The PS-2, some aircraft, and armor came from the Skywave/Pitroad West Wings 2 set, and I took the gun mount from one of the self-propelled artillery to arm the USAS John Glover.

The AAVPs are from a Skywave/Pitroad USMC set.

After all these years, I still love the F-15's and F-4E's on the deck of the Honshu.

That carrier is incredible! And is it wrong to like ships painted Green instead of gray?

The amount of "awesome" in this carrier is staggering!

Think I may have to nick the camo scheme on those AV-8Bs for one the 1/72 AV-8Bs in the stash.

Do you recall the name of that set with the Zubr?  Can't find anything in that regard.
Cheers,
Moritz

What did you use for the turret ring on the Glover?

I could be wrong, but it looks a little like the round base from the Mk.13 launcher that's included in the Pit-Road weapons sets.

Additional question, is the Skycrane the WEM offering?

Joe C-P

Yes, the Skycrane is a WEM product. I don't know if it still is in production.

I don't remember what that turret ring was. It might have been a bit of scrap even.

Those are F-4JEs, of course. And F-15JNs, or F-15NJs. I'm not certain which way they would have named it.
