Hey, the gov announced it and the opposition said boo. Big deal right? Canada purchased the CF-35, 65 of them for 9 billion (16 billion for the extra bits needed)
This isn't intended as a political issue but a comment in the press and from the opposition was a gripe about single source bidding. Please help me guys... but what else is there?

I don't know of any aircraft that is actually on par performance wise that is available. Even Lockheed says the Raptor is a 4.5 generation compared to the JSF. I know we could get a lot more of my fav, the Gripen, but the Swedish superstar has really short legs. Su-27 variants are sweet, but Canada will never likely buy Russian for our military.

Could someone help out here? Just info please. Don't make this political please.
