Excellent - entirely the right result!

Well done Duncan. Said it before but I'll say it again, that'd be an outstanding effort over six months, never mind a week!

Well done Duncan

A great reward for all the thought and effort of doing a scratch build in about a week (Fri-Sat) !!! As it was on display at our Bolton Club special event that Sunday. (BTW he did a six mile walk up our hill to get suitable decals to use on the Saturday morning - now that was some effort !!)

Well done Dunc a truelly deserved victory. I will "drop one" latter in your honour  ;D

Personally I'm stunned to get the votes I did as I do realise my limitations as a modeller. Benefit of age is you get more honest with yourself I think. So thank you gents and Nev can I have a "le Creusot" silicone spatula rather then a wooden spoon ??

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

RUBBISH!

Chris, you do yourself a disservice!

You a very good modeller, your builds are amongst those from Geoff B, Geoff P, Terry and Ian's that really inspired me to "must try harder" in my building. Not to mention the breadth and depth of your historical knowledge, and the the sheer joy and enthusiasm you inject into your work.

Besides, its always nice to have a verbal sparring partner who gives as good as (if not better) than they get....keeps me on my toes no end!

Duncan

Thankyou Duncan but I know the truth and would not put myself in the same league as those you mention. However I do ENJOY the hobby (even more so since I stopped trying to achieve the magazine quality builds I once aspired to) and I hope I can recognise young (ish  ;D) talent when I see it and gently prod it to get better and better. You are a prime example of that.

Well done everyone!  There's no way I could get anything done in a week unless I took a week off work and sent the Fun Detector off to her parents for the duration.  And even then it would have to be a HobbyBoss quick build - not to a very good standard either.

I personally gave my 1st place to Harold (Weaver), and I must admit I thought it would be either his build, Puddingwrestler's or Tuck's that took the prize. For what it is worth Harold, I really liked your build, I loved the humour you put into it

Cheers, but nah - I voted for yours as 1st. Mine was not only sci-fi but out-of-my-head sci-fi, so when something didn't pan out I could just change the design and modify the back-story to suit. You, on the other hand, were working to a set of plans that wern't your own, and against which you could be judged. Different level altogether.

Oh and: 'scuse me for not saying it before, but well done to everybody else who entered (there were some crackers) and thanks to Nev for organising it: cheers!

Congrats to Overkiller!  Congrats also to the rest who got a build done and who made it quite difficult to decide on a favourite! Thanks to Nev for organizing and counting the votes!
