With all the P-82 kits I have butchered, many spare parts were remaining. I have discarded most of them, but kept 6 external (half) wings and 3 radar pods. With that I may of course build a 3-wing twin-boomer. A 1/250 airliner, probably, with secret power (no jet nor propeller).
For fins, I have taken parts alone in the sparebox: tailplanes of Unicraft Kit-1, Airfix Whirlwind, XP-77, 1 unidentified... This will produce twin-fins, asymmetric of course.

one of my favorite styles of whif and sci fi building: a bunch of junk parts turned into something amazing

Here is The Thing (still to be painted and turned airliner)...

Knida reminds me of the Bel Geddes airliner designs of the 1920's and 30's. Like it lots Tophe!

I checked and found this: http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=12188 (a Bel Geddes scale model, yes)
Interesting, thanks!

Hehehehe, I'm chortling away here and Mrs. PR19 is looking at me as if I'm nuts.

Excellent idea Tophe, can't wait to see the colour scheme etc.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Looks like a High simbol of the Dieselpunk culture.

 I did not know this word, Pablo. Checking this also I found http://www.dieselpunks.org/forum/topics/interview-keith-thompson . Interesting fantasy plane also, thanks! ;D

The main painting is done, now drying.
You may notice that parallelism is not my best quality... >:(
I love asymmetry, but here most of it is not voluntary. With sparebox parts joined without guide, the result looks like a 5y.o.-child model...

The Mustanliner prototype is finished, ready to take off, vertically of course (with mind thrust, empowered by the lateral solenoids) – no airline livery for a prototype, of course.
The 4 views below show the model is 1/400 at last, not the scheduled 1/250 (the window diameter is about 1mm, for 40cm at scale 1, not 25cm).

If you wonder what holds the upper wing, the answer is not Classical Pylons, but a special feature designed by Ing. Chris Töff: Weel Pylons, special for this Sparebox Aircraft Corp (who said SAC means Strategic Air Command? Hey, we are in the 22nd Century, no more the 21st!)...

Imagine the wings plenty of fuel, surely the range are amazing.
Great work.

Thanks Lancer for your words... From parts that were almost thrown away to garbage, this is a saving...
