Hey Guys, a Thought just struck Me,What If a Station Wargon or Minivan were Converted into a Crash Rescue Firefighting Vehicle for Airport/Airfield use? had some Ideas but Thought i'd ask You Guys. Heavily Inspired by shows like Thunderbirds. What Station Wagon or Minivan Models would work for Such a Project? Thanks for Looking.Dan

The smallest firefighting vehicles I've seen are the various Land Rover and Range Rover conversions (incl the interesting 6x6 version). Because incidents on an airport don't tend to be small, I don't think many small vehicles are used. These Land/Range Rovers are the smallest. You need to transport at a minimum, several hundred litres of water/chemicals, preferably with cross-country capability so you can take shortcuts. These requirements alone mean you need an offroader. It'd be fun to see a modern version, maybe a modern LR Discovery or Mercedes G 6x6. With a big engine of course (G63 AMG, LR using the Range Rover/Jaguar v8 Supercharged).

Singapore has "Crash / Rescue" vehicles based on small cars like Toyota Echo & Smart and the small Suzuki 4x4 -- also tracked Hagglands !!
you may as well all give up -- the truth is much stranger than fiction.

I'm not sick ... just a little unwell.

I still like the Land Rover half-track family - the Laird Centaur.

For the countries with a Scorpion logistics train, use the standard Scorp running gear & track;
for those with M-113 parts logistics, use the wheels & track from those...

;D ;D
