It will be the pattern for a mould that will be used to produce metal clay reproductions. Possibly waxes for casting.
The material is ivory micarta, (a composite of layers of paper and phenolic resin, it works and looks very close to ivory)
and its about 1.25" tall.

What's Metal Clay?

Literally metal that can be worked like clay and then fired to produce a solid metal object.
The fist was the gold and silver Precious Metal Clay developed in Japan.
