Batman's Vulcan Idea

Hey Guys, What If Bruce Wayne aka Batman purchased a Few Vulcan bombers for himself? would they be Bat styled or just Flat Black? i got the idea from seeing the overhead Schematic View of the Vulcan & thought it would make a Great 'Bat Plane' for Batman!  would this be a Workable WHIF? What say You? thanks for looking.Dan

Well as workable as any Batman tech anyway.....

I'm wondering what he'd use them for? They're no faster than a good business jet, much larger and more troublesome to run, and a good deal less comfortable. You need a hell of a runway to operate one too, so you're not going to sneak out of the Bat Cave via a tunnel. Unless there's some other bit of Bat Tech that he needs to carry in the bomb bay, then I don't see the point.

Electronic thingmytrons for eavesdropping maybe, or carpet bombing of remote hideouts???  You might be able to make it work, but I agree, the Batplane/Batwing has usually been a small-ish aircraft that can be concealed.  An Avro 707 might work, it'd fit in with some of the earlier stories & the delta wing could be styled as a cape.

Hmmm, yeah!   I've always thought a heavilly bashed MiG-29 might work for a later Batwing style aircraft, the semi-blended upper body lending itself to that bat shape.

You could split the Skyray down the middle and graft the halves onto a business jet fuselage to make a sort of delta equivalent of the Hawker Huntsman. Possibly scaleorama, possibly not.

Alternately, my Avro Ambassador wouldn't make a bad Bat Plane: Javelin widened with a centreline splice, AD-5 Skyraider canopy and outer wing panels replaced by Javelin fins with half the tailplanes serving as tip fins.

  facility in Gotham, the main change being the engines being moved forward in the wing to integrate with
  a set of thrust diverters to provide VTOL capability.

  The Batman doesn't always work alone, and many of the members of the Justice League can neither fly, nor
afford their own planes. Apart from the engine mods, the paint job was matte black with the classic scallops
along the trailing edge and rudder.

Agreed...scalloped trailing edges.   With a pointy nose.   Satin black overall.    To my eyes, satin black is classier.
